For castle fans this one is especially interesting since, with the exception of some minor extension work, the complex has largely retained its original appearance. Here too is the Schattenburg museum and an inviting inn which is famed for its enormous schnitzels.

This speciality boasts truly majestic dimensions, and must be seen (and tasted!) to be believed. Come and enjoy the excellent cuisine in the Ritterstube restaurant, furnished in the chivalric style of the medieval knights, or in the Hubertusstube restaurant with its original wood panelled ceiling. The Weinstube restaurant down in the cellar has also been beautifully renovated in keeping with its original historical style.
