Schollomoos Hiking Trail
Nature sights, Nature park and nature reserve
The "Schollamoos" is located in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Alberschwende. In the past, peat was extracted from this moor. Today, a well-maintained walking path leads through the birch forests and the moor area.
A rich spectrum of natural treasures can be discovered on a well-kept walk through the Schollamoos.
Alberschwende lies on the saddle between the Rhine Valley and the Bregenzerwald and is home to moors and wetlands with typical soil-acidic meadows along with their special plants and animals. Four species threatened with extinction in Vorarlberg, as well as more than 50 endangered species of varying degrees, find their habitat here.
