Alberschwende | waterfall circuit
The leisurely circular trail takes walkers to an impressive waterfall.
The interplay of meadows and forests is a delight for hikers on this circular walk. Refreshment is offered by the waterfall in the Fallbachtobel. The landscape near Alberschwende presents itself as wide and open. Meadows and forests dominate the vistas. The circular trail makes a detour into the Fallbachtobel. A footbridge there takes visitors to the waterfall, which plunges several metres into the depths. After that, the route starts to climb for a short distance and then passes meadows on its way back to the town centre.
Directions
Between Café Caesar and the Wirtshaus zur Taube you take the path to Parzelle Brugg. The path soon turns right onto the old Fischbachstraße across open meadows to Moos. Finally, you reach Fischbach and Urturning. This is where the actual waterfall trail begins. In a charming landscape, meadows alternate with short forest sections and you descend into the Fallbachtobel. The trail is secured with wire ropes over a rock outcrop. In view of the waterfall, you cross the stream on a new footbridge. During a local flood in 2006, the old footbridge and the rest of the area with a picnic hut were destroyed. The path leads back from the ravine via the Weitloch plot to the Dreßler ski lift and along the Schiessstandweg back to the center of Alberschwende.
